About the CAB
The Community Advisory Board (CAB) is a group of Grant County community members who advise on local priorities for a Community Energy Fund created through an agreement connected to the “repower” of Clearway’s Mount Storm Energy Center in our region. The CAB’s role is to make sure that the grants given by the fund reflects what our community actually needs — now and over the long term.

Sustain Our Future Foundation (SOFF) is a nonprofit 501c3 organization that partners with energy developers and communities to administer benefit grant funds for local projects — making sure large energy projects deliver meaningful, lasting benefits for the communities around them. SOFF is the fund holder, meaning they oversee the funds and award these grants, informed by the priorities the Community Advisory Board brings forward from the community.

Clearway Energy Group is the largest wind energy company in West Virginia, generating enough in-state electricity to power 460,000 homes. Their projects are furthering West Virginia’s long legacy as a leader in American energy, creating jobs and helping make the grid stronger and more reliable. Clearway has opted to “repower” their Mount Storm Energy Center in Grant County, extending the wind farm’s life for another 35 years and creating a Community Energy Fund to drive new investment into the community.
